Jan Caeyers has been the Artistic Director of the Beethoven Academie since 1993. He regularly gives concerts with this ensemble in deSingel in Antwerp, in Leuven, and in Brussels, as well a various concerts for the Flanders Festival. In addition, Jan Caeyers has performed in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienne, Cité de la Musique in Paris and the Teatro Reale in Madrid. As a guest conductor, Jan Caeyers has worked with, among others, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Rundfunkorchester Berlin, t, he lectured at the catholic University of Leuven for ten years. From 1994 to 1997 he served a he Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, the Orchestra della Toscana in Florence, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in Brno, and the Orchestre du Conservatoire in Paris.

Jan Caeyers traines as a conductor at the Musikhochschule in Vienna. As a professor of musical analysis, he lectured at the Catholic University of Leuven for ten years. From 1994 he served as assistant to Claudio Abbado, Director of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in Vienna, where he has also conducted the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester during its founding tour of Austria, Germany and Italy.
